Celebrating the Holidays with Chuck and Gena Norris
On a perfect December evening, Alice and Keith Mosing opened their home to host an intimate gathering honoring Kickstart Kids. Founders and co-hosts, Gena and Chuck Norris welcomed friends and supporters under the stars with a dynamic martial arts performance by Stafford Middle School’s Demo Team. After cheering on the students with applause and praise, the audience was treated to the personal reflections of Chuck Norris and the importance of martial arts to adolescents as they navigate the difficult adolescent years, including standing up to the challenges of a negative influences, conflict and peer pressure.
Alice and Keith Mosing received awards in recognition of their stalwart support of youth in general, and Kickstart Kids students in particular. For 25 years, this unwavering support has assisted in growing the program from a few schools to 60 schools, resulting in over 110,000 alumni. The Mosings shared their stories of the Kickstart Kids alumni they have come to know, and the importance the program played in these alumni’s lives.
Emcees for the event were martial arts world champion and Kickstart Kids Director of Operations, John Kurek, and the new Kickstart Kids Executive Director, Joan Neuhaus.
Upon conclusion of the formal program, guests were invited to greet Mr. & Mrs. Norris, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and meet the martial artists of Kickstart Kids. All guests were encouraged to mark their calendars for the Boots and Black Belts Gala to be held on April 9, 2022. (Click here for more Gala info)
