Chuck & Gena Norris to Attend 138th Annual Law Enforcement Expo in Dallas
At the invitation of Sheriff Don Sowell (Grimes County), Kickstart Kids will be a featured presentation during the upcoming 138th Annual Law Enforcement Training Conference & Expo hosted by the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas scheduled for July 23-26, 2016, in Dallas.
With an introduction from Chief Bill Waybourn, Mr. Norris will be sharing how KICKSTART KIDS acts as an ally for law enforcement by using nationally approved best-practice strategies to help young people resist negative peer pressure, avoid self-destructive behaviors, and make responsible decisions.
KICKSTART KIDS incorporates this philosophy and research published by the U.S. Department of Justice that revolves around the concept of law enforcement and partners in the community, like Operation Blue Shield, working together to ensure public safety for all in the community. By engaging in partnerships, problem solving, and organizational change, a law enforcement agency can approach public safety in a comprehensive, proactive method.
