It’s Summer Time at Kickstart Kids

School may be out for the summer but Kickstart Kids is still in session. Here’s what Kickstart Kids students and instructors are up to this summer.

Summer Karate is offered to all of our students and is a continuation of their year-long martial arts training. Students are able to sharpen their skills and instructors can focus on specific techniques and training. Many students use this time to gear up for summer tournaments across the nation. Instructors are also making sure our students keep their Kickstart Kids Values on point during this time. Classes are held 4 days a week throughout the month

New Master Rank Black Belts

Join us in congratulating our newest 5th Degree (Master Rank) Kickstart Kids Black Belts! Four Southeast Texas instructors reached the prestigious rank this Summer. Instructors (pictured below, bottom row) Victor Guerrero (McAuliffe), Damien Sauceda (Baines), Caesar Paz (Rodeo Palms), and Amanda Meisner (Hodges Bend) were awarded the rank after testing in front of a panel consisting of Kickstart Kids Chief Director of Operations John Kurek and Southeast Texas Regional Directors Derrick Stinson and Sonia Moreno-White (top row).

Summer Tournaments and Seminars

To keep competitiveness going strong throughout the year, Kickstart Kids is now hosting summer tournaments and seminars across the state. These events help keep our instructors and students sharp and bring more awareness to the program outside of traditional school tournaments. The southeast region held their Second Annual Clash of the Champions tournament, which was held in partnership with the Texas Karate Organization, and open to all competitors. The North Texas region is hosting their first ever open tournament, Stars and Stripes Championship, which is affiliated with the AOK and our central Texas held a Super Seminar focusing on specialized training by their expert instructors. We are excited for our summer program growth.
