Our 2016 Instructors of the Year
On the evening of our Heroes Among Us Gala, we had the privilege of honoring 4 very special heroes of our own. Instructors across the state were decorated as 2016 Instructors of the Year. The instructors were presented an award for their achievement by Chief Director of Operations, John Kurek, and Gena and Chuck Norris. By a vote of their peers, the following individuals were recognized for their outstanding performance in their regions.
North Texas Instructor of the Year
Kristen Savala, de Zavala Middle School, Irving ISD

Mrs. Savala is a 2nd degree black belt. She joined Kickstart Kids in 2013 and is grateful she can create an impact in the lives of children while doing what she loves, martial arts.
Central Texas Instructor of the Year
Jason Chartouni, James Tippit Middle School, Georgetown ISD

Mr. Chartouni is a 4th degree black belt. He joined Kickstart Kids in 2009 and is the Central Texas tournament director, area leader, and manager of Team Kickstart Kids.
Southeast Texas Instructor of the Year

Mr. Paz is a 4th degree black belt. He became a Kickstart Kids instructor in 2008 and is a product of the program. He is the assistant coach of the Southeast Texas All Star Team.

Mr. White is a 5th degree black belt.He joined the program as an instructor shortly after its inception in 1992. Today, he is a tournament director and coach of the Southeast Texas All Star Team.
